Some links to domain registrars are affiliate links. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What that means in practice

On the business, brand, domain and product pages, each generated name is shown with a row of buttons that check whether that name is available as a domain. Those buttons take you to a domain registrar. For some registrars, if you register a domain after following our link, that registrar pays this site a commission.

You pay the registrar’s normal price. The commission comes out of the registrar’s margin, not out of your pocket. Following an affiliate link never costs you more than going to the registrar directly.

The registrars linked from this site are:

  • Namecheap
  • GoDaddy
  • Porkbun
  • Name.com

Where a program exists, it is run through that registrar’s affiliate network. Namecheap runs its program through Impact. GoDaddy runs its program through CJ Affiliate. Porkbun has no affiliate program, and is linked because it is a reasonable place to check a price, with no commission involved.

Some programs may not be active yet. Where a program is not active, the link is a plain search URL with no tracking attached. The disclosure is shown either way, so you never have to guess which is which.

Every outbound registrar link on this site carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and opens in a new tab. The sponsored value is the attribute search engines ask sites to use on paid and affiliate links. It is applied to all of them, including the ones that currently pay nothing.

  • Ranking. Generated names are ordered by a pronounceability and fit score computed in your browser. No registrar influences which names appear or in what order.
  • Availability data. This site does not check availability. The registrar tells you that on their own page.
  • Guide content. The articles are written from linguistic and naming research. No registrar pays for a mention or reviews a draft.
  • Price. You get the registrar’s public price, the same as anyone arriving there directly.

The US Federal Trade Commission requires that disclosures be clear, conspicuous and hard to miss. A notice buried in a footer or hidden behind an expander does not meet that standard. So the disclosure sentence is printed in full contrast directly above the results on every page that carries registrar links, as well as here and in the footer.
